Doctors consider PrEP prescription to adolescent people as a potentially dangerous method of HIV prevention.

 

Only a part of doctors and medical providers consider PrEP prescription to adolescent people as a good method of HIV-preventative care. Other wish do it carefully. Specialists say that we should take into account behaviour peculiarities of young people. So to say, for one PrEP would become a strong defence from HIV, for the others - PrEP might become some kind of provocation on unprotected sex.

PrEP shows great results in HIV prevention. According to the researches among gay and bisexual men - consistent usage of PrEP reduces HIV-transmission at about 92%. Seeing such wonderful achievements in HIV preventative care, Truvada medication was approved as PrEP in 2012 for adults.
