Researchers from University of Bergen, AIIMS Delhi, Leiden University Medical Center and GlaxoSmithKline Vaccines have tested different biomarkers to find those ones which can help to forecast is Mycobacterium tuberculosis presents or not in a patient, 6 months after treatment.

The team of indian scientists have discovered that 11 biomarkers can successfully predict the efficiency of treatment. After all the eleven biomarkers were tested on one hundred children they found the correlations with the bacterial load in the organisms of the young patients. The researchers found that biomarkers BLR1 and FCGR1A are connected with the result of the treatment after a half of a year and they can predict the outcome with 70% accuracy, which is very good to the efficiency of further treatment and care.
