Life4me + launches new #RespectMyHIV campaign

Life4me + launches new #RespectMyHIV campaign - picture 1

On October 13th 2021, Life4me + launched their latest awareness campaign, ‘Respect My HIV’.

The campaign aims to raise awareness about HIV and to help build a more positive attitude towards all people who differ from the “norm” in some way, whether that be based on HIV status, gender, origin, sexual orientation, gender identity, etc.

Even today in 2021, people living with HIV continue to face discrimination at many levels: in private life, at work and, unfortunately, in healthcare settings. Experience has shown us that mere tolerance does not change prejudice towards people. The current reality requires more decisive steps.

It is important that we make it clear, for everyone to hear, that all people are born free and equal in their dignity and rights.

The ‘Respect My HIV’ campaign encourages respect for all people who differ from the expected “norm” in any way.

Our main message: “Respect diversity: HIV status, sex work, gender, gender identity, sexuality, migration, mobility, choice, love, freedom, dignity, origin, special needs, well-being, sexual and mental health, intimacy, passion, rights, faith, humanity."

How the campaign will run

RespectMyHIV has kicked off ahead of the European AIDS Conference (EACS 2021) in London and will run predominantly online.

The main events of this campaign are a demonstration and the march, which will take place on Saturday 30th October 2021 at 14:30. Participants will take to the streets of London to demand respect for human rights, celebrate diversity, inspire each other, and give a powerful boost to a campaign that we hope will run for a very long time to come.
